Thus they took the first steps of a long journey. The company is the brain child of two young men Skyler Witman and John Washenko, who in 1997 started their own mortgage company, Accelerated Equity & Development. During the course of operating their business, they became aware that their clients were taking on huge debt loads when signing their mortgage documents. Their concern for their clients’ welfare led them to examine the amortization table system closely, and determine that in this modern technological age, this puppy could be beat. They possessed the wit and gumption to pursue an impossible dream.
In a long, difficult, and expensive endeavor. Years of research brought together computer and mathematical engineers, and United First Financial was born. Several years and millions of dollars later the first prototype was ready for testing which was accomplished by providing the service to four hundred lucky households in Colorado. Close monitoring of the test clients’ progress, and constant tuning of the procedures provided results much better than originally projected in the planning stages.
After bringing on board five more co-founders their company structure and marketing plan was firmly in place, and a nationwide sales force took it to the public. These young men, through a sensible business structure, have kept a tight rein on the activities of their sales force. They realized that unsupervised enthusiasm could wreak havoc on any organization. They insist that all operations be conducted with an overload of integrity, and any activity that is demeaning to the company is not tolerated.
